Turbulence

Standard

Sitting in a house on the Irish cosy I can hear the battering winds of storm Malik. It even woke the dogs up and they are now asleep in front of a fire – both as close to me  as possible. Two daft golden retrievers.

It just got me thinking about turbulence and what causes it? Thank

It is meant to be fairly straightforward- defined as chaotic eddies of air, disturbed from a calm state by various forces. I am not a physics buff – failed it at school!

These Eddie’s are In the Earth’s atmosphere. They occur in the day when surface air is warmed by contact with the ground and then rises. They are high and low pressure centres  that move over the Earth.

So from a calm state there are these alterations in the atmosphere – coming from all angles . It’s a little like

a calm column of rising smoke which breaks up into crazy patterned  swirls against the sky. That’s turbulence.

And the precipitating factors can happen at any time – not just when we are riding high in the sky. Rough air happens everywhere, from ground level to mountain ranges.

So how can you have a less turbulent life? I think the most important thing to remember is that we all hit these pockets of disturbances. Few of us have a stress free life. What doesn’t change is the solid fact that God loves us. His son died for us so we can have life- not the punishment we deserve. And He does not change – He is the same today and tomorrow. If we can focus on Him – the journey feels less choppy. We still have to face the storm weather but we don’t have to be so afraid.

Buzz and Woody are both content – knowing that despite the howling gales and turbulent weather all is well.

    Thank you Debbie.

The first post read today after a little dose of “mood” turbulence that I sometimes experience. I knew I needed to seek God’d help to lift me towards his love and your blog arrived as a new kind of blessing. My 15 year old faithful border terrier Sir Fin has sensed my new calm and is relaxing now into a new moment of calm on his comfortable bed.We have a new partnership of step by gentle step together. We lost my husband and one of our dogs 3 years ago.

God is always there teaching us both new ways to share love day by day, moment by moment when we seek his rocking chair.

Thank you Debbie. The old song comes to mind!! ‘The Anchor holds’. Praise God that in the midst of the storms of life our anchor holds us. Steadfast and Sure in his love.❤️ Thinking of you in the waiting. X
